Wine Experiences
At Nikoladze Winery, wine is best experienced together โ at our table, in our cellar and among the qvevri. We welcome guests to discover our wines, taste traditional Georgian food and share the stories and traditions behind them.
Wine Tasting
Discover the wines of Nikoladze Winery through a guided tasting in our family winery.
Our wine tasting is more than simply trying several wines. It is an opportunity to discover Georgian winemaking, taste wines made in traditional qvevri, and learn how the character of our vineyards and the winemaking process shape each bottle.
We begin by introducing you to our winery and the story behind our wines. We will talk about the grape varieties we work with, where they come from, and why qvevri remains such an important part of Georgian winemaking.
During the tasting, you will have the opportunity to try a selection of our natural qvevri wines, including both white and red wines. We explain what makes each wine different, from the grape variety and vintage to the length of skin contact and maturation.

Churchkhela & Pelamushi Cooking Experience
Discover two beloved Georgian traditions made from grapes.
Churchkhela and pelamushi are traditional Georgian treats made from grape juice and flour, and both have a special connection to the country’s centuries-old wine culture.
During this hands-on experience, you will learn how these traditional sweets are prepared and discover how Georgian families have traditionally used grape harvest products beyond winemaking.
Making Churchkhela
Churchkhela is often called a Georgian “candle” because of its distinctive shape. Traditionally, walnuts or hazelnuts are threaded onto a string and repeatedly dipped into a thickened mixture of grape juice and flour called tatara.
You will prepare the grape mixture, learn how to achieve the right consistency, and make your own Churchkhela. The finished Churchkhela is then hung to dry, gradually developing its characteristic texture and rich grape flavor.
[ADD: How many Churchkhela each guest makes / whether guests can take them home]
Making Pelamushi
Pelamushi is a traditional Georgian grape pudding made from concentrated grape juice and flour. It has a naturally rich grape flavor and a smooth, thick texture.
Together, we will prepare the grape juice mixture and cook it slowly until it reaches the traditional consistency. You will learn how Pelamushi has traditionally been prepared during the grape harvest and why it remains an important part of Georgian culinary culture.
From the Vineyard to the Table
What makes this experience especially meaningful at our winery is the connection between grape growing, winemaking and Georgian food traditions.
The same grape harvest that gives us the juice for wine can also become the foundation for traditional foods such as Churchkhela and Pelamushi. It is a beautiful example of how Georgian culture has traditionally made use of the harvest in many different ways.

- ๐ Learn about the connection between grapes and Georgian cuisine
- ๐ฅ Make traditional Churchkhela

- ๐ท Enjoy the experience at our family winery
